The DMC Classic Solo Showcase DJ competition , launched in 1985, is the DMC's most traditional format. DJs from all over the world compete to win the prestigious title of DMC World Champion . The national winner qualifies for the 2025 DMC World Final in Tokyo.

1st Round Qualifer
 • All USA DJs must register at https://dmcdjchamps.us/register and submit a 2-minute set .
 • Please do not upload your participation video to YouTube or other social networks. 
 • The jury selects the best participants from each region to advance to the 2nd round Conference Finals
Technical requirements for the video:
 • Format: 16:9, at least Full HD resolution (1920×1080)
 • Sound recording directly from the mixer
 • No logos, nicknames or visual elements
 • Continuous shot showing the entire person and equipment (not just the hands)
 • No cuts, image changes, animations or other video editing
 • No visually offensive content (e.g. nudity, pornography)
 • Timeout of maximum 4 seconds allowed
 • The video must have been recorded in 2025, old videos will lead to disqualification
 • Technical defects lead to automatic disqualification
2nd Round - Conference Finals (July 5, 2025)
The top three routines from each conference (East and West) will compete in a live-streamed YouTube event, where judges will determine the Conference Finals Champions.
 • 1st place from each conference earns a fully paid trip to the DMC USA Finals in San Francisco, CA.
 • 2nd and 3rd place from each conference will receive an invitation to compete.

2025 USA Finals - San Francisco,Ca (August 9, The Midway SF)

 • The jury selects the best participants from each region to advance to the 2nd round Conference Finals

Important Dates
 • Deadline for online qualification: March 27, 2025 / 12 noon
 • Evaluation period: March 27 to 31, 2025
 • Announcement of the finalists: March 31, 2025
 • Live final: April 8, 2025 / Frankfurt
General Rules
 • Participation is open, there is no age limit.*
 • No participation fees.
 • Participants must either be citizens of the country or be registered in Germany in order to take part in the national competition.
 • DMC World reserves the right to change the competition rules to ensure credibility and fairness.
*Minors require written consent from a parent or guardian and must be under their supervision during the live final.
equipment
 • This is a turntablist category where DJs play from turntables.
 • Up to 2 turntables and 1 DJ mixer are permitted .
 • Vinyl and DVS systems are permitted.
 • Technics 1210 turntables are priced and provided.
 • Any mixing console may be used.
 • Phase is allowed.
 • Not allowed: Additional peripherals such as MIDI controllers, effects devices, loopers, etc.
