On August 10th, DMC World, in partnership with Pioneer DJ by Alpha Theta and DJCity, launched a pilot party event at Next Door in Honolulu, Hawaii to give viewers a visual representation of this new competition. The DMC Open Cypher is a groundbreaking open-format party event that brings together the best party DJs and music lovers for an unforgettable competitive showcase of talent, music selection, and community. In many ways, it amplifies the drive to win the DMC Open, as champions gain the opportunity to be featured at prestigious Open Cypher events. Local Hawaiian DJs Caldee of Down, Jetlag of The Warm-Up HI, and Subtoll of Trust Me Ent. stepped up to the challenge of testing the DMC Open format, delivering electrifying 15-minute sets that seamlessly blended genres, eras, and tempos.
